Preliminary Designs
Actual Scarecrow!
Scarecrow Reflection 2D October 5, 2012
I feel the good or stong parts of my project is the overall unity, and the relation and proportion of all parts. My scarecrow is roughly my height and about the same width. I think we could have stuck everything together a little better. Even thought the parts are supposed to move, they could be more stable. The theme of my scarecrow is the Skelo-sceam. It is a combination of a skeleton, and the famous painting The Scream. It is supposed to be a scarier project. My major color I used when making the project was black. I picked black because it looks more evil, and makes him look clothed. I also used some skin colors for the head, hands, and legs. To make my creature 3-D I used tin cans, pop bottles, and pop cans. His form is definetely long and lanky. I did this so he would resemble me and the painting he's based off of. I learned that you can take so called "junk" and turn it into a sweet creation. I also learned that multiple layers of an object can give it a more 3-D effect. Most of what my partner and I did was according to plan. We did make a few changes like not adding the feet, and not fully attaching the legs to the body. The final design we drew looks very similar to our actual scarecrow. I definitely believe this is a worthwhile project because you learn to use your materials that are easily provided.
